Hola ! My name is Roxana… I’m 30 years-old Argentinian woman and a big Buenos Aires fan. If you come to Buenos Aires, I’ll love to show my city and be your friend the time you stay here.

Many visitors will notice that Buenos Aires is a melting pot of Italians, Spanish, French and German. This is because the city had always had open immigration policies throughout history. Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan city and used to be called the “little Paris of south America”.

One of the main reasons tourists love our city, is the local food. Here, you will enjoy our Asados (choripan, bondiola, bife de chorizo…) and our wines (the best Malbec!).

Among places I would recommend visiting in BA, I can recall:

  • Caminito and San Telmo -the most typical and bohemian neighborhood having a night party in Palermo
  • walking around Recoleta and its French style
  • learning the origins of Tango or about our peculiar history in Plaza de Mayo and the historical center.

If you are more into nature, the numerous parks of the city will welcome you arms wide open. Going to Tigre river, half an hour out of Buenos Aires or to a typical “gaucho’s estancia“; can also be a very good option to consider if you have more than a couple of days to spend in the city.

Remember, BA is not the only city in Argentina! So while you’re here, be sure to add one of these countless places back to your list:

  • Iguazu falls in Misiones Province
  • Mendoza capital of wine
  • Ushuaia “the end of the world”
  • Calafate – Perito Moreno glacier
  • El Chalten capital of trekking
  • Salta, Jujuy, Tucuman
