I met Sonia first time at Tunis Carthage airport when she was heading on a solo trip to Peru. Sonia is a kind of person who always have a story to tell you, an advice to give. Let’s see what travel experiences she would tell us in this interview.

Q: Hi, Can you present yourself in a few words?
SB: Sonia Belkaid backpack travel lover, my main point of interest is discovering new cultures and live new traditions. I like also taking portrait photographs.
Q: How many countries and independent territories have you visited?
SB: I have visited 45 countries in Africa, America, Europe, and Asia

Q: What is the first country you have visited?
SB: My first country is France (and exactly the city of Marseille). I was 9 years old, with my mum and sister to visit my aunt studying there. It was a dream trip for me.
Q: What is the last country you have visited?
SB: My last country was for a business trip is Baghdad (Iraq). I was impressed by the kindness of Iraqi people and the beauty and charm of Baghdad even after the war and in a very low level of security.
Q: What is your next destination?
SB: My next trip should be Japan.

Q: What was the most amazing travel experience you have lived?
SB: It’s difficult to choose just one experience, as it’s always different. So if I have to choose, I would pick-up Machu Picchu which was one of the most amazing places I have ever visited.

Q: Can you tell us about the most dangerous travel experience you have lived?
SB: I can’t say dangerous but it was kind of risky. And it was Iraq last March 2017.

Q: If you have to pack only one thing in your luggage, what would it be?
SB: Definitely my camera.
Q: What are the first three things you do when you arrive in a new place?
SB: 1/Leave my backpack in the hotel. 2/Visit the area around. 3/see how to reach the place I planned for the day after.
Q: What ultimate advice can you tell people that are crazy about travelling?
SB: As long as you can travel, discover, share experiences, learn about new traditions and ways of living… do it !
